Allied Universal is seeking professional, reliable, and responsible Security Guards to provide security services at a college campus in Ottawa, Ontario.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus facilities. Security Guards must be familiar with site-specific policies and procedures, respond appropriately to emergencies, and provide professional customer service at all times.

Position Details

• Position: Security Guard – College Campus

• Location: Ottawa, Ontario

• Employment Type: Part-Time and Casual / On-Call

• Pay Rate: $ 21.50/hour

• Schedule: Various shifts available based on operational requirements, including evenings and weekends

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout the college campus.

• Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols of the facilities.

• Monitor entrances and exits to control access to the building.

• Verify access authorization for students, employees, visitors, and contractors in accordance with established procedures.

• Prevent security incidents, identify suspicious behaviour, and report any concerns.

• Respond to security incidents, conflicts, and emergencies in accordance with site-specific procedures.

• Enforce campus policies, rules, and regulations.

• Monitor security systems and report any malfunctions or irregularities.

• Maintain a safe environment and contribute to risk prevention.

• Provide courteous and professional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

• Prepare incident reports and document relevant events accurately.

• Communicate and collaborate with supervisors, college management, and emergency services as required.

• Perform other security-related duties as assigned based on operational needs.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.

• Valid First Aid and CPR certification.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Basic computer skills and comfort using security systems.

• Demonstrated sound judgment, vigilance, professionalism, and discretion.

• Ability to remain calm and professional when handling challenging situations.

• Physically able to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Availability to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.

• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
